I Live in America is now on Blogger!!

Hey Everyone!

Earlier this week, as I was walking down 8th ave on my way to the studio, I was struck by this particular image. It wasn't any different than the images I usually see in the seedy Garment District neighborhood. However, this time as I saw this image, James Brown popped in my head singing "I-Live-in America"- think less James Brown and more Apollo Creed in his grand pre-fight show in Rocky IV. Yes, the one with the Russian. I really like that scene because it is so over the top and absurd- and sometimes when I see images like the one I saw, I think of how absurd our culture can be. I snapped a pic of the image with my camera phone and quickly sent it out to a few of you via an email titled "I Live in America". The response was great. Images of your "America" started rolling in. I loved it and now I want to make this little project available to all of you through this Blog.

So, consider this an open invitation to send in your pics of your "America". Absurd or not- please just think of Apollo dancing around the well trained giant Russian, knowing it's all about to go down hill really quick.
